In the Costa Rican national elections of 2018, Costa Ricans in the UK who wished to vote had to do so in person at the Embassy.
We at the Association had no idea how many would make the trip, but we installed ourselves in a pub nearby and asked the embassy to send over anyone who fancied a drink and a catch up. As it turned out, dozens of Ticos came from across the country, including from as far as Ireland, to exercise their democratic right, and it was quite the party in the pub!.
This fantastic video was recorded spontaneously, and really captured everyone’s enthusiasm – so much so that it was shown on TeleTica back home. It was a great night and we got to know lots of lovely new people in the community.
